In March 2013 I was one of four Australians who went on a two week skiing tour of Afghanistan. We skied in Bamyan province, 240km north west of Kabul, and competed in the 2013 Afghan Ski Challenge. Other areas we visited were Kabul and surrounds, and the Panjshir Valley.
